This day can be described in one word: head-wind. Even the storks had a hard time standing still on their poles and the humans had never wished for some trees more than now.
For breakfast we stopped in Joniskis (meat, a traditional potato soup and a traditional dessert) and Thor realised our spokes seemed to be made out of spaghetti, another 6 had broken on the back wheel. Hm, I thought it had been pretty wobbly in my trailer. A quick stop at the tourist information and some phone calls later we were in the backyard of some guy who had some stuff. It took him only (?!) 3 cigarettes to fix it and after a friendly: ”no money, I happy when help.” we were back on track, or should I say in the head-wind.
Trying not to get all the wind in my face I took a nap while Amy and Thor were struggling to keep going. Pretty nice! Next stop, the hill of crosses just outside Siauliai. A little spooky but really cool.
Once in this big city we located another bike shop, during the last 40km they had managed to break two more spokes, and a café with a well deserved cake and milkshake. Tonight we are sleeping on a camping just outside town and hope the wind will settle until tomorrow. A little tail-wind would be nice.
On the bright side the sun was shining all day long and my humans are getting real tough legs and can eat all the candy they want – something they really do as well.
Bra jobbat Leo. Du håller igång dina kompisar.
